“Wherever you are I’ll find you, wherever you will be, I’ll be with you “That’s quite romantic, isn’t it? Well, that somehow briefly summarizes the dramatic love story you share with your mobile phone. No need to deny it, you are not the only one.
We have all got used to the habit of carrying our mobile phones with us wherever we go and we would never ever leave the house without it. We also panic when it’s not within our reach and are constantly refreshing it to keep up to date with emails, texts, and calls.
The situation got even worse and we have become really addicted to it. We often store it in the pockets of our pants or shirts because it’s convenient and more accessible, but what we totally ignore that it causes negative side effects that can put our health at risk.
We often store it in the pockets of our pants or shirts because it’s convenient and more accessible, but what we totally ignore that it causes negative side effects that can put our health at risk.
1. This why you need to stop storing your phone in your pocket
Why shouldn’t you put your phone in your pocket? The answer is simple. Storing your phone is bad for your phone and even worse for your health. One more thing worth mentioning is that your phone is far dirtier than what you used to think.
Therefore, the more germs it collects, the more germs you touch. There is actual scientific evidence behind these claims.
2. Your phone is putting your health at risk
Dr. Lily Friedman of Comprehensive Wellness Institute in South Florida said that cell phones are constantly releasing heat and radiation and that can be very dangerous, especially if you are that kind of person who always keeps the cell phone close.
And that’s because when you store your phone in the pockets of your pants or that of your t-shirt while it is on or connected to a wireless network, the radiation exceeds the federal guidelines for exposure and becomes 2 up to 7 times higher than if it was stored in a purse or a holster.
Dr. Lily continues explaining that there is a direct and clear connection between the radiation coming from your phone and tumor growth, meaning that the exposure to radiation caused by your phone can be responsible for causing cancer in the future and might even increase the risk of a brain tumor and cancer cells.
3. Your health is at risk
Radiation can disrupt and change the structure of our DNA, negatively affect male fertility and one of the main reasons behind depression and heart irregularities. That’s not all, the radiation can also weaken the pelvic bones and decrease the bone density.
Dr. Friedman cautions that storing a phone on a back pocket of your jeans, for instance, can equally lead to back problems in the near future, like severe back pain as a result of structural and muscular imbalance.
And that happens at the moment when we adjust our position while seated to avoid putting any pressure that could break the phone.
4. Your Pocket is the Worst Place to Store You Phone
Will you still hold your cell phone that close? I mean do you think that the convenience of storing your phone somewhere like your pants or t-shirt pockets is worth putting your health and whole life at risk?
Well, you’d better keep it in your bag or on the table. If you cannot and find it like a hard battle then you must be one of those addicted Buddies.
In case you feel like you need more reasons to quit this awful habit of putting your phone in your pocket, then I think you would like to know what Emily Shapiro, an employee of the Apple reseller iPower resale says.
According to her, the second most common way phone screens shatter is by placing them where they shouldn’t be. That’s one. Two, by doing so the phone can easily slip out without you even realize it and you will end up paying $100 to fix it.
words to remember:
Be smart enough and keep that phone out of your pocket and save yourself the extra phone and doctor bills.
