Believe it or not, white toothpaste can do more than leaving your teeth squeaky clean and white — every corner of your house is entitled to the same rights! But again, house cleaning is not the only other job of toothpaste; you will actually be surprised by its many alternative uses.
The main ingredients in whitening toothpaste being hydrogen peroxide, pyrophosphates, and carbamide peroxide, are bleaching agents that help remove stains in no time. And that’s one of the perks of toothpaste to give you a hint of what it can do!
If you want to try some useful hacks using none other than toothpaste, read this list of five unusual uses for white toothpaste that work!
1. Cleaning sneakers
Using toothpaste to clean sneakers is the ultimate hack. Use any non-gel white toothpaste to clean sneakers with white soles. Avoid using colored toothpaste as it might permanently stain your sneakers.
Apply the toothpaste to an old or spare toothbrush and scrub the sneakers thoroughly to remove grass stains, dust, and dirt.
Leave the toothpaste on the shoes for up to 15 minutes, then wipe it off with a damp towel or microfiber cloth.
2. Removing carpet stains
How to remove coffee stains from clothes or rugs? We’ve got your back! In addition to cleaning sneakers, toothpaste can get rid of stains on your carpets and clothes.
Mix whitening toothpaste contains baking soda and titanium dioxide, baking soda and water for an even more effective result. All you should do is apply the mix on stained areas to remove minor coffee stains, grass stains, grease, etc. Then rinse thoroughly in a normal washing machine cycle.
But make sure the toothpaste does not have hydrogen peroxide, which could bleach your clothes or carpets.
3. Freshening smelly hands
Are your hands or fingertips plagued by overpowering garlic or onion smell? Anyone who cooks can relate to that!
But you don’t have to live with smelly hands for a long time like you usually do! You can remove the smell of any pungent ingredient like onions, garlic
, cumin, or even fish by scrubbing your fingertips with toothpaste.
